Oktoberfest is a German holiday lasting 16 days celebrating in late September into the beginning of October. This year was our family’s first year celebrating. I am not sure why we haven’t before, but I am sure we’ll do this again year after year. Thanks to some old friends for inviting us to their awesome party. We had a great time celebrating the cool fall night away with friends, family, good food, live music, and Denny in costume of course.
Denny’s aunt Lois played her accordion at the party to provide live music. I had never heard her play before, she was great. The kids thought the accordion was pretty cool. Our niece Grace sat near Lois most of the time she was playing, the other kids ran in and out sneaking glances as she played for our enjoyment.
Denny showed up to party in traditional Bavarian attire, obviously. I was a bit more modern. Aren’t we the perfect combination? My husband is such a riot! Maybe someday I’ll join in and get myself a costume to wear, maybe.
We finished out the night warming ourselves by the fire. The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins, as they always do. Our nephew Jack was there, but he jumped off his chair right before I took this picture. It was a good night and we’re looking forward to celebrating again!
